Ghardaïa
Being of North African heritage and having grown up in Montreal, I have observed how “slow” architecture resists the fast pace of busy cities. Particularly in the context of globalization and climate change, this calls for a cultural shift towards a sustainable, locally-rooted future. I am thus inspired to embark on a research project that seeks to reclaim cultural and sustainable landscapes. My architectural interest lies in local cultures and architectural practices, transcending the realm of conceptual design to encompass the relationship between material lifecycle, culture, and embodiment.
